Who Runs This Site

roofersinireland.ie is an independent directory of roofing contractors in Ireland, run by Dave Coleman. For the purposes of data protection law, Dave Coleman is the data controller for this site.

What Data We Hold, and Why

Business listings. The directory lists publicly available information about roofing contractors, business name, phone number, address, county, website, Google rating and review count, and opening hours. This is sourced from public business listings (such as Google Business Profiles) for the purpose of helping homeowners find and contact a roofer directly. We rely on legitimate interest to process this limited, already-public business information.

Enquiries. If you send an enquiry through a roofer's listing, we collect your name, contact details and the job details you provide. Your enquiry goes straight to the roofer whose listing you used, by email, delivered by our email provider Resend, with the site operator copied so we can keep the directory working. It is only used to send your enquiry, is never sold, and is not used for marketing. The form is protected from automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile.

Analytics. We use first-party analytics to understand how the site is used, run through our own analytics console. This records the pages you visit, the page that referred you, your approximate location (city and region, from your connection), your browser, operating system, device type and screen size, and sets a small first-party session cookie. It does not collect your name and does not store your IP address. We also use StatCounter, a third-party analytics service, as a secondary traffic counter, which sets its own analytics cookie. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can opt out of our analytics on this browser by adding ?notrack=1 to any page URL.

How Long We Keep It

Business listing data is kept for as long as the directory operates, or until a business asks for it to be corrected or removed. Quote request details are kept only as long as needed to forward your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.

If You Are a Listed Business

If any detail in your listing is wrong, out of date, or you would like your business removed from the directory entirely, get in touch and we will action it promptly. Under data protection law you can ask us to:

• Correct inaccurate information about your business (Article 16)
• Remove your listing entirely (Article 17)
• Tell you what data we hold about your business (Article 15)

Contact us on WhatsApp or dave@daveacoleman.com with the business name and listing URL, and we will confirm once it is done.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or ask us to delete your data, and to object to how it is used. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
